Manifesta, the European biennale of contemporary art, came to Zurich in 2016, inviting everyone to an unconventional art experience.
Every two years, the Manifesta contemporary art biennale is held in different cities throughout Europe. The title of the 11th edition, which came to Zurich in 2016, was “What People Do For Money”. The name Manifesta stands for a high level of quality and for being accessible to a broader public, but also for curatorial freedom and the courage to experiment. In its function as a partner, the Migros Pioneer Fund supported Manifesta 11’s innovative outreach programme.
