The international initiative Museomix turns museums into laboratories for ideas, where for 72 hours, talented young people can refine their own ideas for the museum of the future.
What could the museum of the future look like? What kinds of formats attract new categories of visitors? How can museums engage the public more strongly? Museomix constantly considers the museum from the public’s point of view, creating new ways to access museums and their collections. During a period of 72 hours, the museum will become an idea-lab, in which talented young designers, hackers, makers, scientists, creative artists and communicators create functioning prototypes together, subsequently presenting them to the public. The Migros Pioneer Fund is helping this fresh, new format become established in German-speaking Switzerland.
